Hotels and Airbnb’s in Merida, Mexico

While in Merida, Mexico I stayed in airbnb’s and hotels. The hotels were similar to the hotels in the US but the airbnb’s were slightly better to me. A couple of the airbnb’s and hotels were closer to the center of Merida. While the other ones were located a little further out. I really enjoyed staying close to the city center. I was able to walk to more places without having to catch a taxi or uber. I could walk to the parks where live music was playing. Merida has several nice parks and they are all family friendly. There are many restaurants, stores, a big flea market, and cultural buildings and museums in the city center.

One Airbnb was in an area called Paseo. Paseo is a popular street and area in Merida, MX. On Sunday’s they shut down one side of the street so people and their family can bike on the closed side of the street. This area has several restaurants and shops. I walked up and down the street at different times of the day and night. It was always filled with lights and people. The area is very safe and walkable. This particular airbnb had a nice size bed, small table set, computer desk, big dresser, a counter stove, big refrigerator, plates, pots, and pans.

The next airbnb had a swimming pool, outdoor patio, a gorgeous bathroom, a comfortable bed, tv with netflix, and few restaurants in walking distance. I noticed that many airbnb’s in Merida have swimming pools because of the heat. I appreciate the easy access to pools because of that. Most of the airbnb’s in Merida were pretty nice looking.

The hotel below is called the Hotel Lavanda. Looking at the pictures I’m sure you can see why it’s called that. It’s located in the city center. I really liked being close to everything but that’s not always a good thing. There was a lot of traffic and a lot of people. At times it was congested and made walking around a task instead of enjoyable. All in all I enjoyed the experience of staying there.
